When their sleigh glides into a surprise Vermont

a country tavern in the year 1811.
Shaken, worried and fascinated, the two
attorneys set their cool, logical minds in search of explanation. However the
attentions of a rowdy, charismatic young farmer and his shy betrothed expand
their confusion.
Ensnared in the skein of a time long past, Rey
and Kama seem destined to bear the passion and pain of love that cannot be...and
will not be denied.

"I found SLEIGHRIDE to be totally
entrancing. The method of time travel was refreshingly unique. An interactive
cast of characters whose feelings and actions were realistic and held true to
the time period made the story even more fascinating. And the final plot twist
is completely unexpected yet most satisfying. SLEIGHRIDE is a worthy addition to
the world of time travel and a must read of all fans of romance."

"SLEIGHRIDE is a complicated
dance through time. Smooth, natural dialogue and an intricate plot keep
this excellent time travel moving quickly. There is also plenty of action and
suspense to keep the pages turning. It's not until the very end that the truth
is revealed to Rey and Kama, and it's a wonderful surprise. SLEIGHRIDE is a
quick, charming read that will entertain from the first page."

"Sleighride is a fascinating and
fun tale... Ms Winters' depth of characters gives readers a taste of life
in the early 1800s... She uses an unusual plot twist in this story, but to
say anything more about it would spoil the ending... Take a Sleighride
where snowstorms abound, but romance keeps you warm, in this different approach
to the time travel theme."
~Brenda Gayle, The
Write Lifestyle
"...I must say that in my opinion, C.J. Winters is gifted with a
fantastic story-telling ability. She puts the reader right into the story along
with her wonderful characters. Characters so "real" that you expect to
look up from the page to speak to them...
"This book has everything: mystery, laughter and love... The love scenes
are hot enough to pinken the ears... I don't know yet how many books this author
has written, but I've got to find and read them all. They rate right up there
with some of the best..."
5 Stars! ~Irene Marshall, www.escapetoromance.com
"...Sleighride is a multi-dimensional trip into the early days
of American history and the hearts and minds of two delightful characters who
yearn for something they think they can identify but are on the brink of
losing... Rich with sparkling, witty dialogue, this novel of love missed
and lost and found is a delicious and satisfying look at how we can be blind to
the very thing we want the most desperately.
"Ms. Winters is a masterful wordcrafter, vividly delineating life in the
tiny village of Overbridge with the perfect details to make it come alive, then
populating it with characters who are unique and delightful in their
complexity. She weaves the mystical elements of Kama and Rey's journey of
discovery with a light, deft hand that enthralls from first page to last.
" This is a romance novel that harks back to the origins of the term
romance, a story of love and death and mysteries that slowly untangle to reveal
a truth that is universally applicable... Sleighride should be on
the must-read list of anyone who appreciates vivid characters, compelling pacing
and good, solid storytelling."
~Elizabeth Burton, The
Blue Iris Journal
C.J. Winters does a wonderful job of weaving the twenty-first century with
the nineteenth. The language of the period and images of the costumes are vivid
and realistic, while the humorous presentation of Kama and Rey as a modern day
Laurel and Hardy keeps you captivated. There's a little bit of everything in
this wonderfully written novel-intrigue, romance, mystery, suspense, and true
love. Add all that to a surprise ending and you have a wonderful read. I
thoroughly enjoyed reading Sleighride and I highly recommend it.

"I can't tell you what a wonderful ride Sleighride was for me!
...I refuse to do anything that would give the ending away. Let me just tell you it has more twists and turns than Space Mountain. To say the ending took me by surprise would be the understatement of the year. I just kept muttering, "I didn't see that coming." Bravo, Ms. Winters, for shocking an avid reader who isn't easily shocked."
